Riley went home today (Feb. 8, 2009) where he was greeted by a welcoming committee of neighbors. Everyone was so happy to meet him and he was very friendly and on his best behavior. He and his new owners went shopping for a bed, bowls, food, toys, LSU collar and shampoo. Once he got back home, he had a sorely needed bath and dried himself off on the living room furniture. Then he went for a walk to meet his human and canine neighbors. Rags, who lives across the street, and Agnes, who lives next door, were especially happy to meet the new kid on the block. Riley's owners say that he is truly living the life of Riley!

Many of you have followed Brittanie's journey with us and have visited her at Petco on several occasions. We wanted you to know that Saturday, May 17, 2008, a wonderful young woman named Holly, with her parents, came to Petco to adopt Brittanie. We had been in contact with Holly for about 2 weeks prior and felt she would be a wonderful Mom for Brittanie. Well, after meeting her in person, we are more confident than ever. Some of you were in Petco on Saturday and joined in our happiness that Brittanie had found a home. Our thanks to Holly for loving animals and for giving our precious Brittanie a home. We will stay in touch with Holly regularly and give you updates on how Brittanie is getting along.

GREAT NEWS TO REPORT - OUR LITTLE MISS DUCHESS HAS A BRAND NEW "FOREVER" HOME. A very nice couple adopted Duchess on Saturday, August 25, 2007. We feel very fortunate that she has been adopted by such a wonderful couple. We know she will have a special place in their home and that they will give her all the love she needs. Duchess, a 1-year old full-blooded dachshund, had been hit by a car and apparently laid on the side of the highway for 2 days before a kind man came to her aid and brought her to us. We had her examined right away and it was discovered that she had a broken back. She can wag her tail (which she does a lot!) and has use of her right rear leg, but her left rear leg had to be amputated due to nerve damage. You would never know it to watch her go! She is absolutely the sweetest little Dachshund even with all she has been through. A special thanks to her new owners.
